Here are the lyrics to three of my new songs! These songs are already in the show!

Canada Rocks!           © Bernie German 2006

The Canadian Rocky Mountains and Alberta’s great outdoors

British Columbia’s Mighty Coast You can see an eagle soar

Saskatchewan and Manitoba will take your breath away

A trip out East to the Maritimes, you can feel the ocean spray

In Ontario or Quebec or the Ter – ri – tor - ies,       every one will agree:

Canada Rocks! With all the best music, Canada Rocks! All the best schools.

Canada Rocks! All the best teachers, Canada Rocks! Hey, Canada’s Cool!

From the Pacific to the Atlantic and all points in between,

Every one will agree.                 Canada Rocks!

We salute our Canadian athletes who work hard all their lives

Up each day at six a.m., got to get in more ice time

The NHL or the CHL Can be a young boys dream

To be an Olympic skating star every girl wants to make the team

The dirt and the sweat and toil and tears, in victory or defeat

Every one will agree.                 Canada Rocks!

With readiness and eagerness we play by the rules

And every kid in Canada knows you’ve got to stay in school

Every one will agree.                 Canada Rocks!

I Love Sports   © Bernie German 2006

I’m all dressed up for my soccer game My friend is picking me up today

I got my T-shirt and I got my shorts What did I hear you say? I love sports

Baseball, game day, football, fair play

What did I hear you say? I love sports

Soccer and swimming, hockey and winning!

What did I hear you say? I love sports

I like kicking the ball as far as I can And playing outside whenever I want

My friends and I like to play outdoors What did I hear you say? I love sports

Repeat Chorus:

Turn off that TV and before you know You‘ll be big and tall; watch your muscles grow

How about if we meet at the tennis court? What did I hear you say? I love sports.

Canada, Oh Canada    © Bernie German 2006

Canada, oh Canada. Oh your prairie winds are blowing,
And your mountain streams are flowing,
Out in the sun, I dream of Canada.

Canada, oh Canada. I can see your sea waves crashing,
I can see your brave hearts flashing, Out in the sun, I dream of Canada

Fly that big red maple leaf forever. The fight for freedom isn’t something new.

We’re Canadians, we all pull together, Let’s tell the whole wide world what we can do!

Canada, oh Canada. We will never quit trying, While our country’s tears are crying

To honor those who make a place for everyone, And dream of Canada

Here are the lyrics to the songs on my first album!

Maple Leaf Railroad   © Mary and Bernie German

I've got a ticket for the Maple Leaf Railroad for every girl and boy
I've got a ticket for the Maple Leaf Railroad and the freedom we enjoy
I've got a great big locomotive the box cars and the track
I've got a ticket for the Maple Leaf Railroad and I'm never looking back
My locomotive is so powerful; it's quite a sight to see
It drives our train from coast to coast; just for you and me
Every hill it has to climb; it keeps its head of steam
To cross the highest mountain top or the smallest stream
Long steel rails are stretching across this mighty land
Helping communities reach out like outstretched holding hands
They connect our entire nation they're connecting you and me
Delivering information; communication is the key
We have a box car full of tolerance Patience and respect
So no one feels left out for once and no one feels neglect
The train is coming your way and that's a natural fact
So do your part to make sure that train never comes off the track
Clickity-clack clickity-clack, clickity-clickity-clack

Slap That Flat Tail Beaver   © Bernie German

He lives out in the water – not talking ‘bout the otter
He's got a big flat tail – not talking ‘bout the quail
He can walk and swim and swam - he can build himself a dam
He's a funny little guy all Canadians know
He's a busy little guy who can build himself a home
That's Right! I mean the Beaver
Slap That Flat Tail Beaver Slap That Flat Tail Beaver
Slap That Flat Tail Beaver Go tell all your friends
He's a little engineer – much smarter than a deer
He's got short brown hair – but he's smaller than a bear
He never wears a scowl – not like his friend the owl
He chops down trees with his long sharp teeth
He stacks ‘em up high with his two front feet
That's Right! I mean the Beaver
When he is in danger – he never calls the ranger
He is always brave - he keeps his family safe
Instead of sending mail - he slaps his big flat tail
He's a funny little guy all Canadians know
He's a busy little guy who can build himself a home
He chops down trees with his long sharp teeth
He stacks ‘em up high with his two front feet
That's Right! I mean the Beaver

Canadian Mounties   © Bernie German, Mary German

When we talk about liberty and Canadian History
When we talk about liberty, we've got to talk about the Mountie
Protects our Freedom to Vote and our Cultural Roots
In their bright red coat and shiny black boots
It's Liberty, Liberty
We salute the Canadian Mounties helping keep all Canadians free
Protecting Canadian Bounty from sea to shining sea
They watch our Canadian wildlife; the beaver, deer and bear
They protect our Canadian way – of – life o'er sea and land and air
Report to work each morning with courage we admire
Respond to every warning with bravery under fire
As they finish work each evening they go home like you and me
And share their friendship, life and joys with friends and family
Everybody sing, Liberty, Liberty; everybody sing, Liberty, Liberty

Ya Hoo!   © 2005 Bernie German, Stu Gogarty

On my first day of school out here in the West
In my new pair of shoes I was looking my best
But I couldn't fit in no matter how hard I tried
I came home from school and I cried
Oh, Mamma, my friends all have cowboy boots
For a cowboy, your boots really show your roots
They make you look tall even if you are small
I need cowboy boots to give the cowboy call
Ya Hoo!          Ya Hoo!          Ya Hoo!         Ya Hoo!
On my second day of school out here in the West
In my baseball cap I was looking my best
But I couldn't fit in no matter how hard I tried
I came home from school and I cried
Oh, Mamma, my friends all have cowboy hats
The cowboy hat is really where it's at
They make you look tall even if you are small
I need a cowboy hat to give the cowboy call
I need a cowboy shirt and a hat and the boots
Now my friends all tell me I need a horse too
When I got home from school I said, YIKES!!!
MY PARENTS HAD BOUGHT ME A BRAND NEW BIKE
My mamma said pretend your bike is a horse
Not a real horse, but a pony of course
And you will feel tall even if you're small
If you believe you're a cowboy, give the cowboy call

Australia Zoo   © Bernie German

If I ever take a trip to Australia this is what I'll do
I'll visit all the animals in Australia at the Australia Zoo
Boomerang, Walabu, Billabong, Kangaroo, this is what I'll do
I'll visit all the animals in Australia at the Australia Zoo
I would hop, hop, hop with the Kangaroos Hop, hop, hop, hop, hop
I would hop, hop, hop with the Kangaroos Hop, hop, hop, hop, hop
I would sneak like a snake with the crocodiles. Sneak, sneak, sneak, sneak, sneak
I would sneak like a snake with the crocodiles Sneak, sneak, sneak, sneak, sneak
I would run, run, run like an Ostrich Runs, run, run, run, run
I would run, run, run like an Ostrich Runs, run, run, run, run

I Wish I Had a Pony   © Bernie German

I wish I had a pony. I'd love him very much
We'd ride across the prairie, but we'd be home for lunch
I wish I had a pony I'd feed him every day
And when I have to go somewhere this is what I'd say
Come here pony, come here pony
Come here pony and take me for a ride
Come here pony, come here pony
Be my friend and wait right by my side
I wish I had a pony that I could ride to school
All my friends would think that we were really, really cool
I'd give him snack right after school each and every day
And when I had to go somewhere this is what I'd say

It's Nice to Have Friends   © Bernie German, Mary German

It's nice when you have friends. The whole wide world is really grand
You can have a birthday party and invite everyone you know
Everyone has cake and pizza Pretty soon it's time to go
It takes two friends to spin the rope for the one in the middle to jump
Friends will give you an extra turn and they won't make you take an out
It's nice when you have friends the whole wide world is really grand
How do you describe a friend?
What word comes to mind?
Loyal, patient, friendly, chummy
You love when they treat you kind - ley
Friends are a must, friends you can rely on
Friends you can trust, friends you can count on
Friends are a must, friends you can rely on
Friends are friends are friends
It's nice when you have friends.
The whole wide world is really grand
It's nice when you have friends.

Alberta to Montana   © Bernie German

From Alberta to Montana, I wear a bandana,
My spurs are silver, my horse is a gray
And I've been a roaming all the way from Wyoming
I sure need a rest now from riding all day.
It's horses and cattle and a trusty old saddle,
With a blanket, a canteen and a good roping' arm.
Wherever there's ranches, I'm taking' my chances,
From sunrise to sunset since the day I was born
The prairies are dusty, my pony is trusty
He helps me to settle my cattle each night
Big dinners and after, campfires and laughter
We start the day's travel again at first light

Canadian Cowhand   © Bernie German

I'm an old cowhand, on a Canadian ranch
And I learned to ride 'fore I learned to stand
I know all the songs that the cowboys know
'bout the big corral where the doggies go
We sing 'cause we don't have a radio
Yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay-ki-yay Yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay-ki-yay
I'm an old cowhand, on a Canadian ranch
And I learned to ride 'fore I learned to stand
I'm a cowboy who had to change his luck
It's just too hard to ride a broncin' buck
And now I ride the range in a pick up truck
Yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay-ki-yay Yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay-ki-yay

I Don't Want to Wash Dishes   © 2005 Bernie German

Grandma's coming over for a visit you see
The kitchen is a mess and Momma's looking for me
I've been working hard at school all day,
All I want to do is go out to play
If she catches me this is what I'll say:
I Don't Want to Wash Dishes I Don't Want to Wash Dishes
I Don't Want to Wash Dishes I Don't Want to Wash Dishes
I Don't Want to Wash Dishes I Don't Want to Wash Dishes
Momma finally found me, I should have known better
She said, “How about we do the dishes together”
We laughed while we washed those cups and plates
We got all those dishes put away
I couldn't believe it when I heard my momma say:

I Just Love To Eat Peas   © 2005 Bernie German

I just love to eat peas but they roll around on my plate
I just love to eat peas but they roll around on my plate
I just love to eat peas. I just love to eat peas
But they roll, yeah they roll, yeah they roll around on my plate
I could make a wall around my peas with mashed potatoes
And a door that swings closed with sliced tomatoes
Wouldn't that be great? I could just close the gate
And I'd keep those peas from rolling around on my plate
I could mash up all my peas with a spoon
When peas are flat like that, they can't move
I got to remember that peas are round and peas like to roll
Maybe next time I'll eat them out of a bowl

My Shoes Are Too Small   © Bernie German

I can't figure out why my shoes are too small Last year they fit me just fine
I can't figure out why my shoes are too small Sometimes I wonder if they're mine
Maybe I should measure them That's what I've been thinking
BOY! I sure do treasure them I hope that they're not shrinking
Maybe I lost them at soccer That's what my friend Dell says
They could be in my friend's locker And I could have somebody else's
Maybe mom is all-knowing She's got the answer, she figures
She says that since I've been growing It's just that my feet are getting bigger
